oi. wait one minute. this was a group decision. as i recall, the only other option was we cut a normal door in the riverside and leave Oli in some kind of Atlas position all year holding the house up... —jon | There was an alternative option of putting the back door on the riverside so that it exited straight onto the main deck. However, we felt an extra 5% more nervous about the whole house falling down with that option, so we went with the side door instead.
Obviously we have now persuaded ourselves that this was a much better plan anyway, as it meant we could maximise the number of windows in the riverside wall instead of cluttering the view with a pesky door. Convinced? Good. —oli | I do love our quantification techniques.
"Yes Jon, you can put a door in the riverside wall if you like, but we envisage you'll experience an extra 5 per cent house-falling-down."
"Hm," said Jon. "That sounds bad." —dan |
