This picture embodies a spirit (perhaps even a philosophy) of the project. In the course of everything, we ran into a lot of physical problems to which the answer wasn't obvious. I'd vaguely expected that with problems like this (mostly involving moving things that weighed an awful lot more than we did from one place to another) that our solutions would either work gracefully or fail miserably. I wasn't really prepared for the actual outcome: which was usually that it didn't quite work, but if we dangled a spare car from one end and hit this bit with a 10lb mallet and stuck a wedge in there and chained this to that, that we'd just about manage to get it to work on the seventh attempt. This seemed to happen more or less every time. And the arrangement that finally worked often looked something like this.
